This is the website of the Magnette Register, part of the MG Car Club. Registers were originally established simply to maintain a record of the known cars produced for each model of MG since Cecil Kimber started the company in 1924. They now do much more to help preserve the cars and their history, and organise events for owners. You'll find a lot of information here, whether you just want to know more about the Magnette or are maintaining or restoring one

Several Register members have taken part in the MG100 Cavalcade marking 100 years since the first MG model. There is also a centenary event organized by MGCC South-East Centre, and there will be Magnette parking at Brooklands Museum on Sunday 19th May (advance booking required via the SE Centre website, enter Brooklands via the Campbell Gate)

Two new articles have been added. Ian Williams has provided useful notes and photos on fitting a 5-bearing engine (using the sump adapter plate originally developed by Allan Bachelder) to supplement information previously contributed. Also John Beesley made a discovery totally by chance of some original drawings used by Pressed Steel Ltd to construct Magnette bodyshells. As well as being of historical interest these will be helpful to anyone trying to reproduce all details of the body panels and welding points
27th March 2024Most of the Register events for 2024 have been added, but keep a look out for updates, and also the MG100 Cavalcade which will include a Z Magnette. The first event of the year is Magnettes & Steam, 30th March at Horsted Keynes station on the Bluebell Railway, and you'll be welcome to just turn up on the day |

19th February 2024A further batch of Magnette 70th Anniversary badges are to be produced, if a sufficient number have been pre-ordered. By making a larger quantity the cost has been kept to around £30 for a pair comprising a grille badge (77mm across) and a pin badge (30mm) both in the design shown here, with enamel and chrome finish.
